Welcome to the American Club of Lille’s Website!
The American Club of Lille
aka « Projet Associatif »
The American Club of Lille supports Americans and kindred spirits living in Northern France.
By celebrating US national holidays and other American cultural events, the Club helps young and old, individuals and families, in creating venues where American culture can be experienced in larger social settings.
Our membership provides a support network to assist newcomers through the difficult transitioning of adjusting to French culture.
The American Club of Lille (ACL) is an English-speaking non profit association created in 1991 under 1901 French law.
ACL members include Americans and people fond of American culture. They share their common cultural background by gathering for US national holidays, cultural events, and in small groups around similar centers of interest.
Through an active online exchange, ACL members also help American newcomers in the difficult transitioning of adjusting to a foreign culture. An example of this is Lille’s famous annual street market explained in the New York Times.
The American Club of Lille is run exclusively by volunteers. If you would like to contribute a few hours to the organization’s activities and events, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Helena, our member for many years, sang a sublime Solitude at our marvelous May 5 American jazz evening at Café de Paris in Tourcoing.
In accordance with our vision statement, our Tech Life 4.1 conference on April 8 2017 on our future in technology was the first ever American organized technology conference in Lille.
